- 3/8 yd. quilted satin
- 1 yd. ribbon, 3/4 inch wide
Instructions
Ch 138 to measure about 17 inches.
1st row: S c in 3rd ch from hook (p), ch 5, s c in 3rd ch from hook (another p); ch 1, skip 4 ch from 1st p, s c in next ch (a p-loop); * ch 1, p, ch 2, p, skip 4 chs, s c in next ch. Repeat from * across.
2nd row: * S c between p’s of next loop, ch 1, s c between p-loops, make 5 tr with ch-1 between; ch 1, s c between p’s of next loop (a shell); ch 1, p, ch 2, p, ch 1. Repeat from * across.
3rd row: * S c between p’s of next p-loop, ch 1, p, ch 2, p, ch 1 (a p-ch); s c in center of tr of next shell, make a p-ch. Repeat from * across.
4th row: In next s c complete a shell, * make a p-loop, a shell. Repeat from * across. Make a p-ch, turn.
5th row: * S c in center tr of shell, a p-ch, s c between p’s of next loop, a p-ch. Repeat from * across.
Repeat 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rows until piece measures 8 inches in all. Fasten off.
Attach thread at one end of foundation chain and, working along narrow side, * ch 5, s c in next loop. Repeat from * along 3 sides. Do not break off but work 2 rnds of s c closely together along all 4 edges. Fasten off.
Cut 2 pieces of quilted satin, each 9 x 17 inches. Place one piece over the other, right sides outside; turn in 1/4 inch at edges and sew neatly. Tack crocheted piece to outside, along edges, and fold in half. Cut ribbon in half and sew 1 piece diagonally across each half of case.
